Meet Patrick
Born in Halifax, raised in Victoria, and living for a time in Boulder, Colorado, Patrick now calls Dawson Creek home. Patrick lives in Dawson Creek with his wife, Tove, and is thoroughly enjoying the local training, friendly people, and, when he has time, the outdoor activities.

Patrick has been a competitive athlete most of his life. Patrick played rep hockey on club teams in Shawnigan Lake, Victoria and Boulder, and ran x-country and track for his numerous school teams. He competed as a varsity athlete in both hockey and x-country at his high school in Boulder, lettering in x-country. Patrick competed at an elite level in field hockey in Victoria, Vancouver and in the USA. Field hockey highlights included captaining his U14 Vancouver Island rep team to a BC Club Championship gold medal, playing for the U16 USA National Team, playing for Team BC at the U18, U19 and Senior level and winning gold at the U18 National Championships. The final 5 years of his field hockey career he played for the University of Victoria Vikes and was a co-captain for the last two years.

In tandem with training, Patrick has been a coach for the last 15 years. He has coached in field hockey, team fitness, and more recently swimming and personal fitness programs. In the academic realm, Patrick always strives to do his best, achieving honour roll status in high school and university. He has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Health Education and a Master of Public Administration.

After deciding to finish with his field hockey days after university, he decided to try a triathlon and he hasn’t looked back. For the past 5 years he has been training hard and is striving to prove himself at an elite level with the ultimate goal of becoming a full-time professional triathlete.
